What this service includes
This service begins with a professional shampoo and a blowdry, followed by an updo created by a New Talent Artist. The stylist will shape the hair into a finished updo using standard styling techniques after cleansing and drying. The price shown is a starting rate and applies to typical hair lengths and textures.
Because hair length and thickness change the amount of time and materials required, an extra charge applies for long or thick hair. This Updo is one level of nine stylist tiers available at the salon — from New Talent Artist through to Lead Atelier Director — which affects pricing and stylist experience.
How results are shaped
The final look depends on hair density, length, natural texture and the chosen updo shape. Weather in our four-season region — especially summer humidity or winter dryness — can influence hold and finishing products. Discussing your event, outfit and desired hold during consultation helps your New Talent Artist choose the right approach for a durable result.
Local life patterns — commuting through Red Bank NJ Transit station or arriving by Route 35 — often mean clients need reliable, time-sensitive styling. We offer evening, weekend and express service options to better match busy family and commuter schedules, and to support pre- or post-event appointments near the Count Basie Center and Red Bank.
Preparing and maintaining style
Bring photos or inspiration to your appointment so the New Talent Artist can match your expectations quickly. If you have special hair accessories you want incorporated, bring them along; otherwise discuss preferences during consultation. Remember that the service includes shampoo and blowdry, so arrive prepared for styling rather than needing to pre-wash hair.
To help your updo hold longer, ask your stylist about recommended finishing products and simple touch-up steps you can do before traveling to waterfront outings or races at Monmouth Park. If you’re traveling from nearby towns like Red Bank or Rumson, allow extra time for arrival on Broad Street’s commercial corridor during event evenings.
