Every Updo by a Master Artist begins with a short consultation to align on look, reference images, and logistics. In Shrewsbury’s Broad Street corridor we factor in event timing, commute plans from Red Bank or Route 35, and whether you need pre- or post-event availability for Count Basie Center shows or waterfront outings.
The consultation also establishes hair characteristics that shape the result: natural texture, previous chemical services, and whether hair is long or thick. Since pricing starts at $129 and extra charges apply for long or thick hair, this conversation clarifies cost expectations and the stylist level you’ll see from our nine-tier team.
Shampoo and blowdry process
The service includes a shampoo and blowdry before the styling step, which prepares the hair’s clean foundation and natural movement. A Master Artist will use the blowdry to create the desired base—smooth, voluminous, or textured—so pins and shaping sit predictably and the finished updo holds better during event activity.
