If you just had the Brow Lamination & Lash Lift Duo with me here in Shrewsbury, the biggest rule is simple: keep brows and lashes dry and oil-free for the first 24 to 48 hours. No water, no steam, no heavy sweating, no rubbing, and skip eye makeup right on the treated area. It’s a 60-minute appointment, it’s a $230 duo with a small savings built in, and those first two days are what protect the shape I set for you.
Quick mindset: Treat the first 48 hours like fresh set hair. The less you mess with it, the longer it holds.
The first 24 to 48 hours: the do-not-touch list that saves your result
This window is where most “my lift dropped” or “my brows went fluffy” problems start. In downtown Shrewsbury, humidity in the summer and running around the Broad Street commercial corridor can make it tempting to rinse your face quickly and move on. Hold off. Here’s what I generally recommend after a lash lift and brow lamination:
For 48 hours, skip these completely
- Water on brows or lashes, including splashing your face, steamy showers aimed at your eyes, and face cloths right over the brow area.
- Steam and heat: sauna, hot yoga, hot tubs, and sitting with your face in the steam at the gym.
- Heavy sweating. A light walk is fine. A hard workout that soaks your hairline and eyes can wait.
- Oil-based products anywhere near the brows or lash line. Oils can break down the bond that holds your shape.
- Rubbing, picking, or pulling, even if one lash feels “out of place.”
Yes, you can still wash your face
You just have to be strategic. Use a gentle cleanser, keep your water and cleanser lower on the face, and avoid soaking the brow hairs or saturating the lash line. Pat dry. Don’t scrub. If you wear contact lenses, be extra mindful about rubbing your eyes out of habit.
Broad Street tip: If you’re heading to an event in Red Bank or you’re bouncing between errands, plan to keep a clean tissue in your bag. If your eyes water or you get sweaty, blot. Don’t wipe.
Days 3 to 7: how to keep the lift crisp and the lamination smooth
Once you’re past that first 48-hour dry window, your routine gets easier. You can get back to normal cleansing, but a few habits make a big difference in how long your results last.
What I want you doing daily
- Brush brows gently into place, especially after sleeping. A clean spoolie works great.
- Keep hands off. Most unevenness comes from rubbing or pressing your face into a towel.
- Be mindful around saltwater. Shrewsbury summers usually mean shore days. If you get splashed, rinse with fresh water as soon as you can and pat dry.
What to avoid even after 48 hours
Skip lash curlers. Your lash lift already did the job, and curlers tend to crimp or stress lifted lashes. And go easy with oil-based removers and waterproof mascara. You don’t have to ban them forever, but they’re the fastest way to shorten your lash lift aftercare results.
Product rules that actually matter: oil-free, gentle, and consistent
I’m not going to hand you a 12-step routine. Simple wins here. The goal is to protect the shape I set, keep the hair healthy, and avoid breaking down the lamination and lift with oils and friction.
Cleansers
Choose a gentle cleanser and avoid oil cleansers around the eyes and brows. If you double cleanse, keep the oil step away from the treated areas.
Makeup and removers
After 48 hours, you can wear mascara. If you want the lift to last, go for non-waterproof and remove it gently. Tugging at the lash line is what gets people into trouble.
Serums
Once you’re past the initial dry window, a nourishing lash or brow serum is usually a smart add-on. Let me know what you’re using and I’ll tell you if it’s playing nicely with your results.
And a quick note if you found me while searching hair salon near me, hair color near me, or hair cut near me. You’re in the right place if you like having everything handled under one roof. I take the same approach across services: clean work, clear instructions, and results you can keep at home.
When to text or call me: uneven results, irritation, and timing your 6 to 8-week touch-up
A little redness right after your appointment can happen, especially if you’re sensitive. What I don’t want is you sitting at home wondering if something is off. If you have prolonged irritation, swelling, or you notice your brows or lashes setting unevenly after you’ve followed the first 48-hour rules, reach out. I’d rather take a look and talk it through than have you stressing about it.

Rebook rhythm: This duo can usually be repeated every 6 to 8 weeks. If you’re coming from Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver, Middletown, Eatontown, or Red Bank, I’m happy to help you pick a timing that works with events and shore weekends.
A simple 48-hour plan for Shrewsbury humidity and shore weekends
If you’re busy, you don’t need more rules. You need the right few rules. Keep things dry and oil-free for 24 to 48 hours, avoid steam and workouts that drench the lash line, and don’t rub. After that, brush brows lightly, cleanse gently, and skip the curler. That’s it.
If you want this to be your “wake up and go” combo, I’ll keep it easy for you. I’ll also tell you honestly when to wait on a touch-up, because I care more about your long-term results than squeezing you in too early.
